On Saturday 18 November 2004, the second meeting of
the Barcelona Football Club fan clubs was held in a reception room at the Hotel and Apartments Bahía Sur.
First there was a general meeting followed by a dinner to which Joan Laporta, the President of the Barcelona Football Club, and other members of the management of the team attended.

After the meal, there was an exchange of presents and commemorative shields of the event between the Football Club and the Fan Clubs, and the President of the Barcelona Football Club answered a string of questions.

The act took place in the warm, friendly atmosphere of the Hotel and Apartments Bahía Sur. Mr. Laporta signed autograph after autograph and had his photo taken, with the fans there, time and time again. He also stated that he felt
a special affinity to the people of Cadiz.

To finalize the event, the President gave thanks to the Hotel and Apartments Bahía Sur for their kind welcome and friendly hospitality and signed the Guests of Honour Book.

The prestigious literary prize was awarded to the Cuban writer Alexis Diaz-Pimienta for his work of art titled “Salvador Golomón.”

The group of elite judges were Luis Mateo Díez, as President, Fernando Sánchez-Dragó, as secretary, and Soledad Puértolas, Milagros Frías and Antonio Gómez Rufo as members of the jury.

This act was attended by the Mayor and numerous other representatives of the social life in San Fernando.

From the 3rd-5th September, the sixth International Salsa Encounter was held at the Hotel Bahía Sur. Three simultaneous dance workshops were
organized: Salsa pairs, Cuban rumba, bachata, acrobatic salsa, etc. in the workshop rooms provided by the hotel for the occasion.

The participants and the instructors were only a short distance away from the facilities, which enabled them to take the maximum advantage of the dance floor and enjoy the comfort of their hotel rooms.

Amongst the more than 1,500 people who attended the event were some of the world´s best dancers. They taught at the workshops during the day and proved exceptional with their brilliant dancing at night.

Year after year, the National Selection chooses this hotel
for many reasons, amongst those being the proximity to the sports facilities. Their necessities are completely met by the covered pavilion for training and tactics and the gymnasium for strength building.

As not all of the players follow the same training rhythm, some finish before others. As they finish their training sessions, they walk 100 meters to the hotel where the masseur quickly tones their muscles up.

This year, too, the Spanish Selection B Team and the National Selection from Angola participated in a match, in the pavilion, which was followed by hundreds of fans.

On the last day of their stay, the management of the hotel invited the National Team, along with the members of their group, trainers, masseurs and management staff, to dinner on the terrace at the hotel restaurant “Barbacoa.” The meal was made merry by a humorist from the Cádiz area.

They commented that at the Hotel and Apartments Bahía Sur, the physical preparation was highly productive but, without doubt, what they most liked was the friendly professional staff.
